Call of Duty: Black Ops boasts top Hollywood talent

7 September 2010

Activision and Treyarch have announced the names of some Hollywood hotshots who will be involved in the upcoming Call of Duty: Black Ops – Gary Oldman, Ed Harris, and David S. Goyer.

Gary Oldman is known for his work in The Professional, Dracula, Batman: The Dark Knight and The Book of Eli. Oldman will reprise his role as Viktor Reznov from Call of Duty: World at War.

Ed Harris is known for his roles in films such as The Abyss, A History of Violence, Pollock, Apollo 13 and The Right Stuff. Harris will play one of the game’s main characters, CIA operative Jason Hudson.

David S. Goyer is on board to provide script consultation and story development support. As a filmmaker, Goyer’s writing credits include the blockbusters Batman: Dark Knight, Batman Begins, Blade and the upcoming Superman: Man of Steel.

“Oldman, Harris and Goyer are considered some of Hollywood’s finest talents and they perfectly complement Call of Duty: Black Ops’ ambitious and immersive single player experience,” said Mark Lamia, Studio Head of Treyarch. “Their contributions have helped us to push the boundaries of our story telling and character development far beyond anything we have ever attempted before in the franchise.”

Call of Duty: Black Ops will be released worldwide on 9 November 2010.
