After announcing Assassin’s Creed Syndicate’s (formerly Assassin’s Creed Victory) reveal earlier today, Ubisoft unveiled their next iteration in their flagship series.
Releasing October 23rd for Xbox One as well as PS4 and later for PC, Assassin’s Creed Syndicate is all about money over monarchs, science over religion and doing what Unity did, but better.
For all intents and purposes, as you’ll see in the reveal, Assassin’s Creed Syndicate takes some of the best aspects of Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag, Grand Theft Auto and the Batman: Arkham series.
The Gang Wars as well as Strongholds mechanics seem to resemble the Naval Fortress mechanics of Assassin’s Creed IV, only with slightly more depth to it.
It’s definitely going to add a lot of playtime as well as additional activities to do in Syndicate, but more than anything, we hope that Ubisoft incorporate the Gangs into the narrative, unlike the fortress mechanics in Blag Flag, which had very limited narrative use.
It does look like they will, but we’ve been fooled before.
On a positive note, the Batman-like close-quarters, crowd juggling combat and rope launcher add a huge amount, potentially at least, to the gameplay. So do the vehicles of course.
There’s a lot more that still needs demonstrating, but we’ll give Ubisoft the benefit of the doubt.
Assassin’s Creed Syndicate Collector’s Edition Bundles
Keep in mind that there’s a good chance that one, two and perhaps even all three bundles will not be available in SA.
They’re still very impressive bundles nonetheless:
- Exclusive Collector’s Box
- Jacob’s Machinery Figurine
- Art Book
- Double-Sided London Map
- Game Soundtrack
- Lithography chosen by the fans who pre-order
- Exclusive FuturPak and Premium Hip Flask.
In addition to that, you’ll gain access to single player missions worth an extra hour of gameplay. Finally, the Season Pass is included.
The Assassin’s Creed Syndicate Big Ben Collector’s Case is exclusively available via the Uplay store.
PC: 139.99EUR – approximately R1900
Console: 149.99EUR – approximately R2000
- Exclusive Collector’s Box
- Jacob Cross-Road Figurine
- Art Book
- Double-sided London Map
- Game soundtrack
- Additional two hours of gameplay
89.99EUR – R1200
- Collector’s box
- Art book
- Double sided London Map
- Game soundtrack
- Additional two hours of gameplay
69.99EUR – R950
That Big Ben bundle is pretty serious business, but we’re not sure we’re willing to invest that much money in the collector’s edition of a game we don’t trust.
Ubisoft has to do a lot to win back interest prior to the release of Assassin’s Creed Syndicate, and even then, we’ll take the standard release, thank you.
