Tango Gameworks’ The Evil Within is an accomplished horror at this point, but it’s a fairly middling scare.
The game’s biggest issue is that it’s too action orientated to be scary – the pacing just isn’t right to establish a thrilling atmosphere. The Executioner looks to be no different.
We don’t think Tango Gameworks has this whole scare thing worked out, which is weird considering they have Shinji Mikami at their helm.
Regardless of what you want from it, The Executioner releases for Xbox One, Xbox 360, PC, PS3 and PS4 on May 26th.
It’s the final piece of the trilogy DLC, so enjoy it.
