Zombie slayer 'Dead meets Lead' announced

13 September 2010

Keldyn Interactive, a game development company based in Gothenburg, has today announced their latest title – Dead meets Lead. Supporting the announcement is the launch of the official website and some snazzy screenshots and concept art.

Dead meets Lead is a fast paced zombie slaying game played from an isometric perspective much like established hack n’ slash titles, Torchlight and Diablo. Gamers will take on the role of an 18th century commander who sets out to rid an island of its zombie infestation.

Armed with their sword and pistol the player faces not only the gruesome villagers-turned-zombies and a range of other beasts converted to the dark side, but also the mischievous mystics behind the plague.

“We are really pleased with how the game has come out so far; early play testing has been tremendously positive and playing the game is already pure pleasure. Right now we are working hard to get the game into a state where we can make a gameplay trailer, which will be released later this year,” said Fredrik Norén, CEO of Keldyn Interactive.

This will be Keldyn Interactive’s first title. Small development studios often have a knack for producing games with refreshing content and exciting gameplay – let’s hope Lead Meets Dead is just such a game.

The story:

In the year of our lord 1716, word reached the British shores of a plague like no other that had spread on the overseas islands of El Mirando and Rugged Nest Island. Not before long, the church councils had assembled a force to deal with this new infestation and drive out the evil, since its origin was rumored to be within the dark arts and witchcraft. A ruthless captain was selected as leader for a fleet of vessels filled with god-fearing men, and they were soon on their way across the ocean to liberate the islands.

However, God had other plans, and before the islands were sighted, a storm broke out and the ships were all sent to the depths of the sea. As the only survivor, the captain was washed up on a beach on – oh God’s ways are truly mysterious – one of the very islands he set out to purge. Being a devout Christian, some would even say on the verge of fanatic, the good captain was firmly set on cleansing the island by his own hands…
