Mario makes another Unreal Engine 4 showcase appearance

7 July 2015

Aspiring developers seem to have an affinity for using Mario to show off the latest tech. Why? We don’t really know, but that chubby Italian plumber sure is lovable.

Mario appeared in a video last week showcasing Unreal Engine 4’s impressive environmental detail, and this week, he’s the guinea-pig to demonstrate the engine’s physics.

The video comes from YouTube user CryZENx, who shows the open-source engine’s assorted physics model using bubbles, cubes and a bunch of different liquids.

Now we just need Nintendo to take the hint…

You can also check out another, slightly stranger video, of Mario covered in fur.
