The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt is a massive, open-world RPG experience like no other.
And the game’s size has been steadily increasing as several free DLC packs and updates which bring with them new content, tweaks and fixes are released.
However, at the moment, The Witcher 3 fans all over the world are discussing the possibility of a New Game Plus mode for the game.
A New Game Plus mode would make extra playthroughs of the game far more interesting, particularly for those who completed the game on the most difficult setting the first time round.
Last week, CD Projekt RED’s Marcin Momot stated that they cannot confirm the inclusion of such a feature in the future.
A few hours later, CD Projekt RED’s North American Community Manager further elaborated on the possibility for a New Game Plos mode on The Witcher 3 official forums, and said the following:
Absolutely. I am not saying there is NO possibility you will ever see New Game +. The dev team is aware it has been requested and they like to keep fans happy when possible. However, as you can see by patch 1.07, there are other things being worked on as well. There are still 2 free DLCs (after this week’s Ciri alt costume), there are patches still being worked on and there is the Expansion Pass material being developed. It may happen, it may not happen, but there is definitely no word on it happening currently.
There was a lot of speculation that you would see NG+ in patch 1.07 and it didn’t happen. Some were disappointed by this. I recommend you politely keep asking for it, but don’t expect it. Then, if it should ever happen, you’ll be happy. But if it doesn’t happen for a while, you won’t keep being disappointed.
As it stands, we now remain unsure about the probability of a New Game Plus Mode. However, for those wondering, The Witcher 3 patch 1.07 update will be released on PS4, Xbox One and PC quite soon.
The patch will include new features and tweaks, such as a new optional movement mode for Geralt, a new inventory tab for books and much more.
It is still not known when this update will be released, but speculation suggests perhaps at the end of the week.
All we can do is remain hopeful at this moment in time for both the patch and the possibility of a New Game Plus mode.
When all is said and done, we rather like that CD Projekt RED want to make sure the game is as polished and complete as possible before adding in new features.
