Rise of the Tomb Raider coming to PS4 and PC in 2016

In 2014, Square Enix and Crystal Dynamics announced the sequel to the 2013 Tomb Raider game on Microsoft’s E3 stage.

It was revealed, on that very stage, that Rise of the Tomb Raider would be launched with timed exclusivty on the Xbox One and Xbox 360 at launch, but little to nothing was said about its launch for the other platforms.

Finally, we’ve got release windows for the PC and PS4.

PS4 gamers wanting to play Rise of the Tomb Raider will have to wait until ‘holiday 2016′, close to 12 months following the launch of the game on Xbox One.

Yet on a more slightly positive note, PC gamers won’t have to wait too long for their release of Rise of the Tomb Raider, which will be coming to Steam in ‘early 2016′. That is far less time than the PS4 release.

Rise of the Tomb Raider will launch for Xbox One on November 10th, which is the exact same release day as Fallout 4, which is looking especially tantaliasing after its recently released raw gameplay trailer, and a better option at this point in time.

For PC gamers, ‘early 2016′ suggests a release in between January and March of 2016, and their respective PS4 counterparts with their release for ‘holiday 2016’ could imply somewhere in October and November.

The result is now that PS4 and PC gamers are left somewhat in the dark with this vague release schedule.

But it’s not all bad as we will certainly be getting Fallout 4 for our PCs and PS4s, so all is not lost. But it is still a real pity about Rise of the Tomb Raider.
