Save game imports confirmed for Dragon Age 2

7 October 2010

OK so we have seen this before countless times, but in this instance, Bioware is taking a unique approach to the way it will pull the game world from Dragon Age into the sequel. The most unusual aspect of the entire thing is that we will play as a totally different character in Dragon Age 2.

While you will not be able to pull your hero from the first game through to Dragon Age 2, you will be able to import your saved games, and decisions made in the first game will affect the way the world looks the second time around.

“We look at it as importing the world really. I’ve always seen Dragon Age as a franchise as about more than any one character. It’s about entire an entire span of history and the whole world that’s affected by what happens. So that was our approach and I think the importing stays true to that in the sense that the decisions your Warden made and the person they were all affects Dragon Age II. You know, who’s in charge of Ferelden, what happened with the Dwarves, who’s running Orzammar? All of these things are reflected and accounted for in Dragon Age II,” said Bioware’s Mike Laidlaw speaking to NowGamer
