Dying Light: The Following’s map is larger than the original, introduces cars

Dying Light: The Following

First teased during their 180 Days of Content montage, Techland hinted at an expansion for Dying Light, Dying Light: The Following, and it’s a big ‘un.

For Dying Light: The Following we’re adding a number of bold game-changers to create one massive expansion. Something big that will give the game a brand-new flavor. The new map alone is the same size as all the previous maps from Dying Light combined, so there is a lot we’re packing in here.”

And from what we can gauge from these latest screenshots, The Following, certainly does look big.

Dying Light: The Following

As massive as the world seems from way up high, the prospect of new structures like that, what seems to be, oil refinery, is really rather exciting.

It’s that much more exciting when there’s a more than enjoyable parkour mechanic at the core.

And seeing as bad guys are going to be an occurrence around these buildings, we can’t wait for the sort of parkour fist and gun fights we’ll get into.

Dying Light: The Following

We really needn’t say anything more than, “vroom, vroooooooom, vroom!”

The introduction of off-road vehicles is fairly appropriate given the expansive fields and little else in the way of avoiding zombies.

We can’t wait for the thrill of having to drive through the moonlit fields as a pack of volatiles chase us, biters in every other direction.

Techland promises a feature-heavy, story-based expansion pack for The Following, as well as an experience that has been tailored and adjusted according to player feedback. Fantastic.

Expect to see more of Dying Light: The Following at Gamescom.
