What’s worse than being grounded? Being grounded, and the entire planet knowing about it. Justin May, the 20-year old accused of trying to swipe Atomic Games’ unreleased game Breach off the show floor during the PAX East expo in March, and who subsequently skipped bail to play Modern Warfare 2 online, has been put on pre-trial probation in Boston.
According to local Attorney Press Secretary Jake Wark, the conditions of May’s probation include staying in school, not reoffending, staying off “Xbox LIVE web sites” (whatever that’s supposed to mean, noobs), as well as the forfeiture of his PC. Assuming May complies, the case will be dismissed in 18 months, or he’ll be back on trial. Or, in the popular vernacular, “consequences will never be the same”.
That bit about staying in school seems particularly relevant. The game he wanted must surely have been Splash Damage’s Brink, not Breach. Breach looks crap.
