A user over on NeoGAF has uncovered some of the best cosplay we have ever seen, and by a long way too.
Granted, there’s a lot of filtered, Photoshop work that has gone into creating each of the images below, but you’re unlikely to get anything that looks like a video game scene without it, and that doesn’t mitigate the fact that they have real freaking wolves in their cosplay.
The cosplayers in question, going by the name Defcon Unlimited, were commissioned as part of the promotion for Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, and they’ve done a fantastic job.
Cosplayers Maul Cosplay, Maja Felicitas and photographer eosAndy have put a lot of work into this shoot and it’s culminated in spitting images of Big Boss (Snake), Quiet and D-Dog.
You’ve got to admit that for all of the post-processing work done on the images themselves, you can’t take away for the quality of the cosplay. The makeup and filters are likely to reproduce the colours and aesthetic of the game, which isn’t actually how the real world looks.
For those curious about the wolves, and you should be, they come courtesy of a company by the name of Filmwölfe Lobine. As a result, these wolves are not pets. They sure are pretty though.
