Once again, Trine is going for a mere US$5 (±R35) on Steam – 75% off the standard price of US$19.99 (±R137). Trine was mostly well received by critics, sitting with an average score of 80/100 on Metacritic.
Trine is a side-scrolling 2.5D action-platform-puzzler with a physics based gameplay mechanic. Players will have to manipulate their environment in order to bypass areas of the beautifully detailed levels and can also use the same environment objects as offense against the hordes of undead that comprise the enemies.
There are three different characters, each with unique capabilities that make up the protagonists in the game. Players will change between the Knight, Thief and Wizard in order to solve puzzles and tackle enemies. The game is wrapped is a nice fantasy setting and driven by an interesting story.
Plenty of updates have made their way to the game since its release, in the form of bonus levels and Nvidia 3D Vision support.
Any fan of puzzle-platform games that has not picked up Trine would be remiss for not capitalizing on such a low priced offering of the title. Trine will require approximately 600MB of bandwidth to download.
