PS4 remote play is unofficially available for PC

When Microsoft revealed that the Xbox One would be able to stream to Windows 10 devices, including laptops, PC and tablets, gamers rejoiced.

The Xbox One is able to stream in 1080p at 60fps, but what about the PS4?

It has come to our attention that a developer named Twisted has created an application that brings the PS4’s remote play functionality to PCs, unofficially of course, for the price of £6.50/$9.99 (R142).

Normally, Remote Play allows the PS4 to stream games to Sony Xperia devices and the PS Vita. However, through the use of an Android emulator for Windows and a little bit of messing around with settings you can get Remote Play working on your PC.

Twisted’s unofficial Remote Play app is demoed below, showing the basic program layout and Infamous Second Son streaming from a PS4:

With the emulator, you can change up the control scheme and even set up a WiFi password for a secure connection between your PC and PS4.

Streaming games between devices on the same network has proven to be very popular lately.

Sony will probably take concern with the app as it charges people in order to be used and we think they will pursue legal action as a result.

Startlingly, Sony has indicated in a Q&A that they are planning to release an official Remote Play app for PC. More details about the app will be announced when they’re ready.

So tell us below what you think about all these developments.
