Free Battlefield 4 DLC includes remakes of Noshahr Canals and Dragon Valley

Battlefield 4 - Legacy Operations Update

Just because DICE is, reportedly, working on Battlefield 5 doesn’t mean they’ve given up on Battlefield 4 – the recent, ginormous patch that overhauled most of the game’s vehicles is proof of that.

While this holiday update, entitled ‘Legacy Operations’, isn’t quite as large, it’s still well worth checking out.

Battlefield 4 - Dragon Valley 2015

DICE have done a superb job recreating Dragon Valley.

According to the patch notes for the holiday update, DICE has overhauled Dragon Valley, as seen in Battlefield 2, as well as one of the most popular death match maps for Battlefield 3, Noshahr Canals.

The thing is, because the harbour portion of Noshahr Canals makes for a fantastic death match locale while it’s actually fairly imbalanced as a conquest map, DICE has integrated the harbour portion of Noshahr Canals into Dragon Valley – that’s right, you’re getting two maps in one.

What this effectively means is Noshahr Canals without that terribly imbalanced and poorly placed US C-RAM.

Like we said in our report on the vehicle overhaul update, we’re fans of Battlefield’s vehicles and the dynamics they offer, and having a map focused around vehicle play has us excited to see how it plays out.

The addition of Noshahr Canals, however, provides an area that encourages solid infantry play, as does a number of areas DICE have tweaked for specifically that.

For a complete overview of Noshahr Canals and Dragon Valley, we suggest you check out the patch notes.

It’s also worth reading to see how your favourite weapon or vehicle has been tweaked because the update makes a large number of balance changes and tweaks.

Found 2 Easter Eggs already, but apparently there’s way more. Also the 1 Scull in the pilar at H looks like the Phantom scull, so something really big might still be hiden somewhere within the new DLC maps. Same for the Operation Outbreak with the closed container with keypad & note saying closed till 2142.
