You may not recall Yoshitaka Amano, Japanese artist, illustrator and character designer, but you’ve definitely heard of or even played some of the games he’s worked on.
Having provided imagery for nearly every Final Fantasy game under the sun, as well as having been commissioned to work on a number of art books, novels and animated projects, Amano is a very accomplished artist.
How appropriate then, as massive Final Fantasy fans, especially of the earlier games he did a lot of character work for, that he was once also commissioned to do some illustrations for a David Bowie short story called Return of the Thing White Duke.
We love ourselves some Under Pressure or Space Oddity, so we thought it a great way for Bowie to be remembered, minus some truly fantastic music of course.
Rest in Peace David Bowie; we’ll be sure to play some Ziggy Stardust on Guitar Hero 3 and Fame on Guitar Hero 5 in your honour. You knew how to rock.
