The Division

Ubisoft has just announced that Tom Clancy’s The Division has sold more copies in the first 24 hours than any previous title from Ubisoft.

David Polfeldt, Managing Director at Ubisoft’s Massive studio, had this to say:

We’re extremely happy with The Division’s record-breaking launch. The Division really represents Ubisoft at its best, with the Massive team and all the teams at our associate studios working at maximum capacity in highly-productive collaboration to deliver an incredibly innovative and entertaining new game.

Additionally, The Division set records for total digital full game sales in one day across PC, Xbox One and PS4.

Including The Division, Ubisoft has three of the most successful new IP launches within the games industry. The other rest of the top four launches includes Destiny, Watch_Dogs and Assassin’s Creed.

Co-Founder and CEO of Ubisoft, Yves Guillemot, said:

The launch of The Division is a tremendous achievement for Ubisoft, and demonstrates our unrivalled capacity to create fantastic new game brands and transform them into entertainment blockbusters. This is a momentous day for Ubisoft, but more importantly it marks the start of millions of players’ enduring engagement in The Division’s game world, which we are confident they will love.

With The Division shattering sales records have you considered playing it? Or are you waiting for the price of the game to drop in due time?
