Middle-earth: Shadow of Mordor was a true breakthrough game series when it came out in 2014.
Rumours of a sequel to this hit franchise have been stewing around in the cauldron that is the internet for a while now.
Despite there not being an official announcement of a sequel, it appears that may be a follow-up to the Lords of the Rings Assassin’s Creed hybrid according to a listing on one stuntwoman’s CV.
Said stuntwoman, Lauren Mary Kim, listed as part of her CV that she was involved in motion capture for the game. The CV reference states emphatically “Shadows of Mordor 2 – Stunts/Acting – Blur”.
You can see the reference in the image below from Kim’s IMDb profile, as follows:
Most interestingly, the motion capture work in question is for a company called Blur that Kim has worked for previously. Blur are well-known for producing CGI trailers for games.
Blur and Kim have worked together on many game trailers. Their combined works spans games such as Elder Scrolls Online, God of War Ascension, Assassin’s Creed Unity and Batman: Arkham Knight.
The possibility of a Shadow of Mordor 2 CGI announcement trailer could definitely be in the works.
Some rumours are indicating that a playable character from the original game, called Lithariel, could be taking a lead role in this supposed sequel.
If the rumours prove true, we should see an announcement CGI trailer for Shadow of Mordor 2 this coming E3.
What are you thoughts on this possible Shadow of Mordor sequel? What would you like to see in the game?
