2016 Call of Duty will be a sci-fi shooter: report

This year’s Call of Duty game will be a sci-fi shooter set in space, according a report from Eurogamer.

This setting would be a departure from the usual Call of Duty war zone, although recent titles in the franchise have featured progressively more complex technology and weaponry.

Black Ops 3 showcased different forms of futuristic technology such as cybernetics, and it is reported that the latest addition to the franchise will take the futuristic concept further than its predecessors.

The information was first leaked by a NeoGaf user who is a reliable source of information within the gaming industry. The leaked information was acknowledged by Eurogamer, who confirm that they have heard the same thing from independent sources.

“This makes Black Ops 3 feel like the stone age,” said the NeoGaf user who leaked the information.

This sci-fi Call of Duty will not be a direct sequel to Ghosts, and will feature at E3 2016.

The latest Call of Duty title is being developed by Infinity Ward, and is expected to launch near the end of 2016.
