Bad Company 2 Vietnam new map revealed, players to help unlock it

6 December 2010

DICE has revealed that there will be a fifth map available in the upcoming Vietnam expansion to Battlefield: Bad Company 2. The new fifth map will be called Operation Hastings – a map that made its debut in the classic Battlefield: Vietnam game.

There is a catch however – the players themselves will be responsible for unlocking the new map. Once players in the Xbox 360, PC and PS3 community collectively amass 69 million team actions, the map will be unlocked for all.

A team action falls into the following categories: resupply, revive, heal, spot, and repair. Team actions performed both in the main game and the digital expansion count towards the common goal.

Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Vietnam will be available on 18 December 2010 on PC, via the EA Store (R99.99) and Steam (±R105).

On 21 December 2010, the expansion will launch on Xbox Live for 1200 MS points and Playstation Network for £9.99 (±R108).
