IGN Africa currently shut down due to money dispute

IGN Africa currently has an uncertain future due to a conflict between the local publisher and the IGN organisation.

The publication has not been updated since an ESL article was published on 25 April 2016. The mystery around the website’s lack of content updates has been cleared up by publisher Chris Mostert.

Speaking to MyGaming, Mostert stated that he is the current publisher of IGN Africa, and is in the midst of a dispute with IGN over payment details.

Mostert said that he does not want to pay the amount requested by IGN for their license, and would prefer to pay for the license in Rand to avoid the price skewing caused by the Rand/Dollar exchange rate.

Whether IGN Africa will continue to publish local content or not will depend on the outcome of the IGN money dispute, and whether it will resolve in favour of Mostert.

The website will remain frozen with no new updates until the matter is resolved.
