Last week sometime, GameInformer editor Andrew Reiner tweeted a teaser ahead of the latest issue’s release, saying it “holds an unannounced sequel” and inviting readers to speculate. He confirmed the next day that the game was a Silent Hill title, but refused to divulge any further details.
Well, over on NeoGAF forum, some guy who didn’t sign an NDA and managed to get his eyeballs on a scanned copy of the magazine, told everybody on the whole internet it’s called Silent Hill: Downpour.
He also lists the a bunch of points about the game, notably that it includes a subway quick travel system, sidequests, no weapon inventory, puzzle difficulty options, boss fights that feature quick-time events, and something about water playing a prominent role somehow.
Apparently the game is set in the south-eastern part of Silent Hill that is visible on maps in previous titles, but never before visited.
Former series locations such as schools and hospitals will not be returning.
