SuperSport to broadcast live competitive gaming tournament

South Africans can now watch the Counter-Strike: Global Offensive ELeague tournament on SuperSport.

The ELeague tournament features the 18 best CS:GO teams from around the world competing for their share of a $1.2 million prize pool.

“ELeague is at the forefront of eSport and we’re looking forward to charting this new frontier on both digital and television platforms,” said SuperSport CEO Gideon Khobane.

“Our debut broadcast of eSport earlier this year was very well received throughout the gaming community. Over 200 million people watch eSport annually – we hope to add to that impressive number.”

The competition will run until 30 July and will be regularly broadcasted live from the United States on the SuperSport 6 and SuperSport 7 channels.

    Really disappointed that they didn’t broadcast the 3rd and final map. Busy watching it now on Twitch. Anyhow, glad that Luminosity won in the end 😀
