Playstation 3 owners are expected to start receiving $9 (R130) settlement offers from Sony, report ArsTechnica.
This follows a court ruling against the Japanese company which held that a 2010 firmware update that removed Linux from the PS3 operating system was unlawful.
Additionally if gamers can prove that they were actually using Linux on their PS3 at the time of the update they could be entitled to a $55 (R805) payout.
The details of the deal are still being ironed out but you can expect banner ads on some of the world’s biggest gaming sites notifying them of the settlement offer.
