Have you ever watched a movie and thought: this would make a great game? I watch a lot of movies, and some of them are just screaming to be made into games. I am not talking about Toy Story 2 or How to Train your Dragon, but more along the lines of aliens living in townships with a huge weapons cache, travelling into people’s dreams and altering their thoughts, and Uma Thurman chopping people up with a katana.
The Blair Witch Project
We have already experienced games that look and feel like the Blair Witch project – Outlast, Slender, Daylight – but none of them were as terrifying as the movie. Running around a forest solving mysteries, video diaries that creep you out, and freaky enemies you won’t soon forget – make this game now!
District 9
Our home-grown sci-fi adventure District 9 is ripe for a video game conversion. It has all the elements of a great game: guns, guns being shot, guns being shot by aliens, guns being shot by aliens at humans, and so much more. Watching bits of District 9 was like watching a great game trailer.
Inception
Seeing as crime/detective/mystery games are making a comeback, Inception The Video Game would fit right into today’s crop of AAA titles. Picture mission-based gameplay, hand-to-hand combat, shoot-outs, car-chases, puzzle solving, the game would have it all. Basically, a better version of 007 Goldeneye.
Sucker Punch
When I first saw Sucker Punch I thought it was a movie based on a game – a game I had missed out on. It’s epic fight scenes, vast array of weaponry, attractive cast (Ed’s note: smoking hot cast, damn), and great environments all came together perfectly in this production. Perhaps a Final Fantasy style RPG is in order, or a hack-n-slash third-person game.
Kill Bill
Slicing through enemies and watching their blood pool at your feet – where do I sign up? Kill Bill would make the ultimate samurai-slicing title, the boss fights would be on a whole new level, and pulling an eye out of a screaming woman’s head would satisfy even the most hardcore gamers.
Spirited Away
One of the best animated films out there at the moment, Spirited away would make a great RPG. Imagine Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch but darker, and more twisted.

I think Jupiter Ascending with it’s whole political flavor and power monger will make for a great RPG or even FPS
