Friday at rAge Expo is usually a quiet affair.
Many exhibitors are still setting up and dedicated gamers are in full-force checking out the latest and greatest.
There are still many visitors, but it’s typically those who could get off early from work or are enjoying a holiday.
Saturday is the biggest day, as could be witnessed by the 400+ queue that greeted us when we arrived at the Dome in the morning.
We asked the queuing visitors why they were prepared to wait for 2 hours in the sweltering morning heat:
“For the games!” said Samuel, age 9.
“I like Forza and Skylanders and I want to see the new things they have.”
Samuel’s dad, Arthur (36) a life-long PC gamer, was hoping to see if he could grab one of Nvidia’s new graphics cards at a cheap price.
There are those who aren’t just here for the games either, Leandra (17), was eager to get to the cosplay competition.
The overwhelming majority of people we asked all had the same answer however:
We still come to rAge every year and wait in the long lines “because it’s cool”.
