In case you missed it, rAge Expo 2016 took place from 7 – 9 October at the TicketPro Dome, Johannesburg.
Showcasing the latest in games, hardware, and everything geek, the expo was one of the biggest yet and attracted gamers from across South Africa.
If you couldn’t make it to rAge 2016, here’s what you missed out on:
Virtual Reality
One of the biggest highlights of rAge 2016 was the arrival of VR in South Africa.
Although the headsets haven’t hit the local market yet, visitors could try out VR headsets such as the HTC Vive and PlayStation VR on the expo floor.

Cosplay
Cosplay is always a major part of rAge Expo and this year was no different.
With a parade and a dedicated cosplay area, the cosplay at this year’s rAge was some of the best South Africa has ever seen.

NAG LAN
The traditional NAG LAN was once again hosted at rAge, and saw PC gamers from all over South Africa setting up for a three-day marathon gaming session.
Gamers competed in tournaments, camped in sleeping bags, and enjoyed the high-speed internet access.

DGL Masters
The Telkom DGL Masters is the next step for South African eSports, and consists of both a Counter-Strike: Global Offensive and Dota 2 tournament.
The top 8 teams in the country competed for a massive prize pool of R1 million, with Paul “ReDeYe” Chaloner hosting the event alongside the best local talent.
Hardware
rAge Expo 2016 was a PC gamer’s heaven, with a large number of hardware retailers offering great discounts on everything from graphics cards to peripherals.
The PlayStation 4 Pro and Slim were also on display, and are expected to arrive in South Africa next month.
Games
Visitors to the expo could enjoy some time with the latest games, including Forza Horizon 3, Mafia 3, Gears of War 4, and much more.
Gamers could also buy games at a discount from a number of stands.
