Adult website Pornhub has revealed a 213% increase in the “clown” search-term.

This follows a number of incidents around the world where scary clown sightings have hit a fever pitch.

“The situation is so absurd that police departments are pleading with the attention-seekers to stop dressing up as evil clowns to scare people, while a woman organized a “peace march” that had been scheduled for Saturday night in support of clowns.”

We’re not sure how the morbidly curious turned to the erotic, but adult searches for circus-themed terms has seen a serious uptick in the last month.

Perhaps the most interesting statistic is that women are 33% more likely to search for clowns than men.
