Star Wars: Rogue One to debut on South Africa’s first-laser projection cinema

A pre-release of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story will be the first movie played in South Africa’s most advanced cinema.

The Scene Xtreme cinema will launch on 14 December at Nu Metro Canal Walk.

It will be the first in the country to debut the new laser-projection technology as well as Dolby Atmos, which is considered to be the best cinema audio system currently available on the market.

“Laser projection represents the most advanced form of digital projection technology available for the global cinema market,” said Nu Metro.

“It ensures crisp, bright, and finely-detailed images at all times and is clearly distinguishable.”
