Twitch announced it is increasing stream quality by adding support for 1080p/60fps video.
The limit on Twitch’s maximum ingest bitrate has been removed and the livestreaming platform now recommends 3-6Mbps for most streams.
Viewers will now have access to more quality options when viewing a stream, as Twitch is rolling out new transcode updates.
While streamers are now able to broadcast at 1080p and higher bitrates, Twitch recommends that streamers who experience instability and dropped frames at this resolution revert to their previous quality options.
Streamers can use the Twitch Inspector tool to monitor stream data and determine their ideal quality settings.
