A group which recently attacked HBO’s systems has threatened to leak the final episode of the current season of Game of Thrones, Mashable reported.

Calling themselves the Mr. Smith group, the attackers claim to have passwords to nearly all HBO’s social media accounts, in addition to the final episode of the current season.

HBO told Mashable it is not in communication with the hackers and it is not going to comment on the matter.

“It has been widely reported that there was a cyber incident at HBO. The hacker may continue to drop bits and pieces of stolen information in an attempt to generate media attention,” said HBO recently.

According to reports, the attackers asked HBO for $6.5 million in Bitcoin as ransom, and HBO reportedly offered to pay $250,000 as a “bug bounty”.

Variety reported that HBO’s offer to pay was a stalling tactic while it assesses the situation.
