Elden Ring was released today and currently holds the top spot on the Steam charts for the most concurrent players.
The FromSoftware title has overtaken Lost Ark and has held a steady level of around 600k concurrent players since its release.
Despite many players reporting performance issues, such as stuttering, controller connection problems and FPS drops, Elden Ring peaked at over 700k players.

Elden Ring features a massive open world, numerous dungeons to explore and legions of enemies to fight – it should keep players busy for some time.
This is all the more impressive given the title’s difficulty and previous FromSoftware games’ day one performances – Dark Souls 3 peaked at 130k and Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice at 125k.
Given the excitement around Elden Ring, it’s likely this high overall player count will persist for some time, especially when players who did not pre-order the game purchase it and join in.
FromSoftware should be pleased with this record-breaking release day result.
Elden Ring is available on Steam, PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series S/X – its release trailer can be watched below.
