PlayStation has announced that it will be acquiring Haven Studios, which has been working on a brand-new AAA multiplayer game for the PlayStation 5.
“We’ve had the privilege of working closely with Haven this past year and have been impressed by the studio’s growth and progress. So now, practically on the anniversary of when we made our partnership official, it’s especially exciting to formally welcome them into the PlayStation family,” said the head of PlayStation Studios Hermen Hulst.
It was revealed on PlayStation’s blog post that the upcoming Haven Studios game will be a live service title and aims to create a “systemic and evolving world focused on freedom, thrill, and playfulness that will keep players entertained and engaged for years,” said the head of Haven Studios Jade Raymond.
Although it was not clearly stated in the post, it is suggested that the new title will be a PlayStation 5 exclusive. No further details, including pricing, were given.
Haven’s live service title is still in the early stages of development, but we are excited to see what they’re working on. Hopefully, they’ll have something to show us in the foreseeable future.
