You never need a reason for fan art, fan art just sort of is.
In celebration of the impending release of Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, Konami has tasked a number of fantastically talented artists to create 80’s-themed posters for MGS V.
These are the results.
Metal Gear Solid: The Phantom Pain by Julien Nido (May 4th)
Imagine MGS V as a retro-styled indie title, this is what you’d get.
Metal Gear Solid: The Phantom Pain by Francesco Botti (May 5th)
This MGS V poster has a real Indiana Jones vibe about it.
Metal Gear Solid: The Phantom Pain by Rudy Wilde (May 6th)
No offence to the rest, but this is our favourite of the lot.
Metal Gear Solid: The Phantom Pain by Amirul Hafiz (May 7th)
The aesthetic of this poster, by Amirul Hafiz, is particularly appealing.
Metal Gear Solid: The Phantom Pain by Joana Rita (May 8th)
This is perhaps the closest to how we’d imagine an 80’s poster.
Which is your favourite? Let us know, and why.
