Donkey Kong player breaks world record – gets highest possible score

Wes Copeland has earned the highest possible score in the 1981 platformer, Donkey Kong.

The fierce competition for the Donkey Kong world record has been finally resolved, as the high score set by Copeland is reportedly unbeatable, and has cemented his place as the King of Kong.

Wes Copeland has regularly set world records for the 1981 video game, constantly improving on his previous scores.

On 5 May 2016, Copeland beat his previous world record of 1,195,100 with a massive high score of 1,218,000.

The expert Donkey Kong player has finally attained the perfect score, as his 3-hour high-score run did not contain a single mistake – meaning that no player will ever be able to surpass his achievement.
