This year has already been too kind to gamers, what with the release of Killzone 3, Dead Space 2, Little Big Planet 2, Bulletstorm, and loads more. This month, however, looks to up the ante with the release of multiple must-play games that will have gamers wishing for more hours in the day.

Rift (PC) 4 March
First up, we have Rift, an MMORPG that has managed to stir up quite a bit of interest with its unique character customization system and impressive production values. We published a full preview of Rift last week, and it really is shaping up to be something quite special. Rift is being released locally on 4 March, but you can pre-purchase it on Steam now and gain access to the Head Start program which allows you to start playing immediately. Dawn of War 2 Retribution (PC) 4 March
Also out this week Friday is the second expansion to the critically acclaimed RTS, Warhammer: 40K Dawn of War II. Retribution will offer a single player campaign which follows on from that introduced on the previous expansion, Chaos Rising. This will be the first time that players can choose their race in the single player campaign. Check out our Dawn of War II review to get an idea of what to expect from this series.
Dragon Age 2 (PC, PS3, 360) 11 March
The first truly blockbuster title of the month arrives next week. The Dragon Age II demo has been available since last week, and has divided fans of the previous game by mixing things up quite radically. Whether it manages to live up the success of the first game remains to be seen.

Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood (PC) 18 March
PC gamers will finally get their chance to play the third sequel to Ubisoft’s iconic action-adventure-stealth franchise come 18 March. Check out our review of the PS3 version of Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood for an idea of what to expect. Fortunately, Ubisoft has come to its senses and ditched its controversial DRM for game.
Top Spin 4 (PS3, 360, Wii) 18 March
The king of tennis video games is back in March, with the fourth iteration of the celebrated series. We are expecting updated visuals, revamped animations, and sharper than ever AI. Players will be able to create and develop their own pro tennis player, and take him/her up against the best in the world. Check out these awesome Top Spin 4 screen shots.
Homefront (PC, PS3, 360) 18 March
The most exciting fresh IP this month, without a doubt, is Homefront. Set in 2027, the USA has been successfully invaded by North Korea and US streets and malls have become battlegrounds where scattered civilian resitance forces make a last ditch attempt to fight for freedom. Penned by non other than John Milius (Apocalypse Now), Homefront is promising an emotionally engaging cinematic FPS experience.
Shogun 2: Total War(PC) 25 March
The long awaited direct sequel to the very first Total War game is due to hit local retail shelves just in time for pay day. The 5.9GB demo is available on Steam, and has already managed to impress long time fans of the series and newcomers alike. Now, if Creative Assembly can just deliver a polished, bug-free game at launch (I’m looking at you Empire: Total War), then strategy buffs will have something to celebrate this month.

Crysis 2 (PC, PS3, 360) 25 March
Yet another giant sequel, Crysis 2 is set to make its console debut later in the month. The game uses an all new engine, and has accomplished writers Richard Morgan and Peter Watts at the helm. It also promises an intriguing looking multiplayer component. Check out the official Crysis 2 story trailer.
We warned you, March is going to be a real wallet drainer. However, just in case none of those tickle your fancy (seriously?), there are loads more games due out over the coming month.
