I can vouch for Power-line Adapters (using my power cables anyway). Just expanded my network to 2 rooms where the wifi was flaky. It was practically plug and play.
Now I have dedicated lan via power-line connections and a power-line Wi-Fi Extender at the far end of my place as well – just incase 🙂
Obviously YMMV, depending on the power cable infrastructure in your place.
