The big RPGs releasing in March

March is here and although its still early in 2024, we’ve already seen a number of big video game releases.

These include break-out hit Helldivers 2 – which has proven so popular that its developers have had to expand its server capacities several times – and Last Epoch, which recently left early access to great reception.

March continues this trend with several notable titles to look forward to – especially for RPG fans.

Below, we have listed five of the major RPGs releasing this month.

The Thaumaturge (PS5, XSX/S, PC) – March 4

The Thaumaturge is a story-driven isometric RPG set in 20th-century Warsaw where players will interact with the supernatural and strange as Wiktor Szulski – a Thaumaturge drawn back to the city for family matters.

As a thaumaturge, Wiktor can see and interact with supernatural entities, sometimes taming them, and use their power to uncover secrets, speak to The Darkness, and engage in combat.

The Thaumaturge uses a turn-based combat system that allows you to defeat your foes with attacks from Wiktor and unique abilities from the entities he has tamed.

You can develop Wiktor as a character to match your preferred playstyle and influence the story and characters around him.

Unicorn Overlord (PS4, PS5, XSX/S, Switch) – March 8

Unicorn Overlord is a tactical RPG that puts players in the shoes of Alain, the Crown Prince of a fallen kingdom, who has raised the flag of rebellion against his home’s invaders.

As a tactical RPG, players will command an army of up to 60 unique characters – including everything from humans and elves to huge beasts and divine angels.

You’ll be able to customise these units and, when battle commences, engage in strategic combat where you’ll need to think each move through carefully to achieve victory.

When not in combat, players and their armies will be able to traverse an expansive open world – reclaiming and rebuilding towns, training allies, and preparing for the next battle.

Dragon’s Dogma 2 (PC, PS5, XSX/S) – March 22

The long-awaited sequel to Dargon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen will let players once more take the role of the Arisen and engage in breathtaking class-based combat.

As the Arisen, players will be tasked with hunting down the dragon who stole their heart by making use of up to three Pawns – NPC companions 0 as they explore the world and do battle with monsters and men alike.

Dragon’s Dogma 2, like its predecessor, will also allow players to use various classes for their character and pawns that provide vastly different gameplay experiences. Some of these classes exclusive to the Arisen.

Whether you favour a two-handed blade, a sturdy bow, or spells of ice and flame, Dragon’s Dogma will have a class to satisfy you.

Rise of the Ronin (PS5) – March 22

Rise of the Ronin is the next RPG title from Team Ninja, the developers behind Nioh, Nioh 2, and Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty.

It will feature Team Ninja’s trademark mastery of fast-paced, soulslike combat – making it an exciting new title to many fans of the studio.

Set in war-torn 1863 Japan, Rise of the Ronin will have a combat-focused open world and feature a dynamic story shaped by your choices as you explore.

The story of Rise of the Ronin will take place in the Bakumatsu period – a time when East and West collided, and Japan experienced a cultural revolution.

Therefore, players will be able to make use of traditional weaponry alongside time-period authentic firearms.

South Park: Snow Day! (PC, PS5, XSX/S, Switch) – March 26

South Park: Snow Day! is the next title from South Park Digital Studios and the newest chapter in the journey of the New Kid.

Unlike previous titles, South Park: Snow Day! has been rendered in 3D and will feature cooperative gameplay – letting you team up with up to three friends or allied bots as you work to save the town from an endless winter.

You’ll also be able to equip unique weapons and use special abilities as you battle amongst warring factions in an all-new story.

A wide range of cosmetics and customisation options will be available for the New Kid, too, allowing you to really bring your preferred character to life.
