This weekend I’m going to be playing with oblong balls; the virtual kind. Then I’ll watch grown men fighting each other just for the chance to lay hands on another oblong ball.
Yes, I have the official Rugby World Cup 2011 game and Jonah Lomu Rugby Challenge flashing their broken grins and cauliflower ears at me from the top of my review pile. When am I supposed to play Space Marine? Hmmmm?
Then of course, I’ll be celebrating the Bok’s opening match in the real Rugby World Cup by getting drunk and ruining my friend’s patio furniture and pot plants.

Oh, Deus Ex (Augmented Edition), how I’ve longed to lock the doors, dim the lights, tear away your packaging and have my way with you all weekend long. The thought of exploring every crevice, alleyway and side mission your sexy awesomeness has to offer has me more than a little excited.
And no, that’s not a Longsword Whisperhead in my pocket…

I’ll be sinking my teeth into Hard-Reset this weekend. Everything I’ve read points to it being an “old school shooter”, which, as a fan of old school shooters, sounds just dandy to me. I’m also still slowly making my way through Deus Ex: Human Revolution so we will see how that goes. Having said all that, Spring really has kicked Johannesburg in the face, so I might just spend my weekend outside in the sun to celebrate the coming of the warmer months.

This weekend is Korean Thanksgiving, so while you’re all slaving away at work on Monday and Tuesday (or continuing to atrophy in your basement), I’ll be getting my game on. This weekend is Deus Ex weekend – I can’t promise myself I’ll finish it, but I’ll be damned if I don’t make a go of it.
When I need a break from killing people before they know I exist, I’ll bide my time with a bit of Multiplayer action, most likely in the form of old stand-bys HoN and Starcraft 2. I never miss an opportunity to get insulted by adolescents.

After a brief flirtation with Trackmania Nations Forever this past week that rekindled my obsession with racing games, I’ll probably fire up the old racing wheel. Trackmania and Gran Turismo 5 are on the cards in between family gatherings and watching the Rugby World Cup with friends.
