Games releasing this week (6 – 10 February 2012)

Last week was the start of gaming season 2012 – but even with the relatively large game titles dropping, let’s face it, there were only 2, really.

This week is a significant improvement, especially with regards to the PC – it would seem the gaming master-race actually has more games to look forward to this week than any other platform.

Sure, the biggest aren’t PC-exclusive, but they’ll undoubtedly look better, yes?

Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning

Need some RPG-goodness this February? If you’ve already done and dusted Skyrim and are looking for a new adventure – then I bet you’re already in line for Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning.

Starting off as a “clean slate” you get to use the “destiny” system to forge your path forward. That’s a fancy way of saying you’re going to develop your character down a specific class tree, gaining abilities and skills all along the way. The game promises 5 distinct regions, 4 playable races, and 3 class trees with 22 abilities per tree.

Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning will be Ar-pee-geeing into stores this Friday, 10 February 2012.

The Darkness 2

Time to join Jackie Estacado once again as he unleashes the Darkness within. Somone is trying to kill him (aren’t they always) and a strange order known as the Brotherhood are taking a particular interest in Jackie boy and his curse, and influencing events along the way.

The Darkness 2 promises to be a much more stylized, gorey and, well, dark trip into the world of demons and gangster warfare – offering the chance to do the whole quad-wielding thing, controlling Darkness demon arms and using guns at the same time – and just having a more expansive control over your powers.

Also, the co-op introduces its own set of freaks who have their own vendetta against the Brotherhood – which should make for some awesome multiplayer times.

The Darkness 2 shall envelope you this Friday, 10 February 2012.
