Earlier this week, we checked out which games were being plundered the most via the internet. After a bit of sniffing around, we’ve narrowed down the top 10 games that have been downloaded through torrent sites, locally.

Since the start of Torlock and Torrentfunk in March and January 2010, respectively, the sites have proven rather popular locally, with the former amassing 425,758, and the latter 704,975 South African visitors over their lifetime.

Torlock

It would appear that the Grand Theft Auto games are the most popular titles being downloaded illegally – which is fitting in so many ways. A game about being a criminal, being acquired through criminal means, in a country that’s (possibly unjustly) labelled as one of the most crime-ridden in the world.
