Games releasing this week (5 – 9 March 2012)

The moment has arrived – one of the biggest launch weeks in gaming for 2012 is at our doorstep, and you can bet your pet monkey that millions of gamers have been holding on for this moment.

Indeed – The Sims 3 Showtime is finally here; and it’s special edition features items and clothing inspired by none other than Ms. Katy Perry.

Nothing else really matters this week, but we might as well highlight these two minor releases – they could do with some added klout, yeah?

Mass Effect 3

The Reapers have come to Earth, and only you can stop them and save humanity from almost certain doom. You are Commander Shepard, and you’re the biggest badass in the universe.

You’re so badass that you’ve spent the past 2 games building enough reason for the Reapers to take personal exception to you, and to wage a vendetta against your homeworld. Whoops. Best clear that mess up.

With gameplay, graphics and a direction that is looking to be the best in the trilogy, we simply can’t wait for this game anymore, and Friday must come sooner. It’s time to take back Earth.

Mass Effect 3 is available on PC, Xbox 360 and PS3 this Friday, 9 March 2012.

Mortal Kombat Komplete

Mortal Kombat 2011 (Or Mortal Kombat 9, depending on how you’re counting) was an excellent return to form for the series – reaching back to its roots and what made the game so great to play in the first place.

The complete edition will smash up Mortal Kombat 2011, along with the 4 DLC characters, 15 classic skins and three classic fatalities for Scorpion, Sub-Zero and Reptile.

The DLC characters are creepy blood-vixen Skarlet; blind samurai, Kenshi; purple climatologist/ninja, Rain; and everyone’s favourite murderer of sleeping children, Freddy Krueger.

And now it can be yours to own, 9 March 2012. FINISH HIM!
