Dion Wired, 8ta and Incredible Connection have slashed the pricing on some of their televisions and smartphones as part of their special promotions.

Dion Wired is running massive discounts on a range of LG and Sony televisions, while 8ta is offering cheap contract and prepaid mobile phones specials. Incredible Connection also features this week with something for the gamers.

Here are some of the standout deals.

Sony Bravia 40-inch 3D Full HD LED (Dion Wired)

Dion Wired has the Sony Bravia 40-inch 40EX720 3D LED TV on special for R6,000, discounted from the regular price of R11,500.

The television features a Full HD resolution, 3D capabilities, a 100Hz refresh rate, 4 x HDMI connections and 2 x USB connections. The television also features wireless LAN, and is internet video certified for Skype calling.

LG 47-inch Full HD LED TV (Dion Wired)

Dion Wired also has the LG 47-inch LV3530 Full HD LED television on sale this week for R6,000, down from the regular price of R9,000.

The television features a Full HD resolution, 3 x HDMI connections, edge-lit LED lighting, and the ability to play external DivX content.

Sony Bravia 32-inch Full HD LCD TV (Dion Wired)

The third TV from Dion Wired this week is the Sony Bravia 32-inch 32CX520 Full HD LCD for R3,500.

Featuring a 50Hz panel, 4 HDMI ports and 2 USB ports, the television is also capable of wireless LAN connectivity and internet video streaming.

Online reviews for this TV are positive, and are worth a read if you are considering a screen in this size class.

BlackBerry Curve 9300 smartphone (8ta/Telkom Direct)

8ta have the BlackBerry Curve 9300 3G smartphone on special for R1,598 on prepaid, and R159 per month for 24-months on contract.

The contract comes with R100 airtime a month, as well as the BlackBerry Internet Service. It also comes with 500mb of free YouTube streaming bandwidth.

Standout features include 3G connectivity, a 2 megapixel camera and BlackBerry Messenger.

Samsung Galaxy S II smartphone (8ta/Telkom Direct)

8ta is offering the Samsung Galaxy S II smartphone for either R3,598 on prepaid, or R170 per month for 24-months.

The contract comes with SIM and connection fees.

The phone features a 4.3 inch touch screen, 8 megapixel camera, 1080p HD video recording and supports Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.

Samsung Omnia 7 smartphone (8ta/Telkom Direct)

Another 8ta special is the Samsung Omnia 7 Windows phone smartphone for R858 on prepaid, or R50 per month for 24-months on contract.

The bundle comes with R50 airtime per month, as well as free SIM and connection fees.

The phone ships with Windows 7, and can upgrade to the Windows 7.5 Mango version of the software. It features a 4-inch touch screen, 5 megapixel camera with LED flash, and a 1GHz single core processor.

Nokia N9 Meego smartphone (8ta/Telkom Direct)

The Nokia N9 is also available from 8ta, on special for R2,998, or R240 per month for 24-months on contract.

The contract includes 120 anytime minutes to other South African mobile networks, 25MB of data, and 25 free SMS’s per month. Free SIM and connection fees are also included.

The N9 runs the Meego operating system, features a 3.9-inch touch screen, an 8 megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss optics and dual LED flash, and 720p HD video recording.

Sony PlayStation 3 Consoles (Incredible Connection)

For the gamers who don’t own a PlayStation 3 yet, Incredible Connection has the 160GB console on special for R2,499.95.

They also have the 320GB console bundled with God of War 3 and Gran Turismo 5, and that costs R3,499.95.

Both consoles are brand new units rather than refurbished consoles that are being sold at some local retailers.
