The best selling games in South Africa

Market research company Gfk has released their latest stats on the SA physical retail gaming market, revealing which titles sold the best across major platforms during April 2012.

There was a little bit of shuffling in the top ranking titles for April, a month which will likely be remembered as a bit of a gaming drought in terms of new releases.

EA’s back catalogue is still going strong on the major platforms, dominating the top 5 PC sales, but losing a bit of ground on Xbox 360. Mass effect 3 has completely dropped off the charts.

Old favourites are holding strong, with Call of Duty 4, The Sims, Gran Turismo 5 and FIFA all present.

Of the new releases, Activision’s late entry (24 April) Prototype 2 cracked into the top five on PS3, while The Witcher 2 (17 April) clearly made a strong debut on Xbox 360.
