As August approaches, one of the world’s most anticipated gaming events takes place – Gamescom.
Held in the heart of Cologne in Germany, Gamescom throws together eager gamers, journalists, and developers for 5 days of gaming chaos and beauty.
First held in 2009, the event has become a solid platform for publishers to release details and info regarding some of the biggest things happening in the industry; so as James prepares his fluffy Louis Vuitton jacket to blend into the streets of Cologne, we have a wish-list of a few things we want to see.
Metal Gear Solid 5
Even though Hideo Kojima recently came out and told the world that the supposed leaked images of MGS5 were fakes, and there are no current plans for the game, we think he’s got something up his sleeve.
A fifth instalment into the highly-acclaimed Metal Gear Solid series is an inevitability, and the team over at Kojima Productions must be planning something.
We hope to hear or see something regarding a new MGS game, even though Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance hasn’t even touched down yet.
While we’re still loving our PS3s and Xbox 360s and next-gen may still be a while away, about what’s happening next in the world of consoles.
We know that Microsoft are going to be a no-show, but Sony could be preparing to show us a little something that starts with “Playstation” and ends with “4”, we hope.
Ridiculous rumours aside, Sony must have some interesting things going on in their labs, but what?
The leaked images from a Microsoft document aren’t enough to keep us enticed.
The Last of Us
E3 gave us a fair amount of details and footage from Naughty Dogs upcoming survival game, but we want more.
The Last of Us is on Sony’s agenda for the show and should play an important role in their presentations.
It’s one of the games that has impressed us most since its original reveal and any new details or content from the game will put a smile on our faces.
Battlefield 3 End Game
EA are going to show off their upcoming lineup, including FIFA 13, Medal of Honor: Warfighter, Need for Speed: Most Wanted, Crysis 3, SimCity and more.
We hope the “more” is some details of Battlefield 3’s last expansion, End Game.
Rumours are flying around suggesting that it could be the highly-demanded dinosaur mode, and while it’s unlikely, we’re remaining hopeful.
Company of Heroes 2
Company of Heroes is one of those franchises that’s dedicated to delivering the strategy love-letter to PC gamers, and Company of Heroes 2 is one of the games we’re most excited for.
THQ will be exhibiting their upcoming release, and James will be pushing and shoving little children out of the way just to get his hands on the anticipated RTS.
