Games you can play this week

15 October 2012

Last week, gamers were treated to a not-so-surprising hit in the form of Dishonored, and if some gamers have finished up with Bethesda’s new IP (or face-stabbing is not really your thing), you’re in for some high-octane and horror-filled action this week.

The War Z

15 October 2012

Being unable to decide between making a zombie game, or a game title featuring the letter “Z”, Hammerpoint Interactive couldn’t choose and went for both.

Jokes aside, The War Z puts players into a post-apocalyptic world where they must use skill and cunning to acquire food, weapons, and other supplies that are needed for survival. The War Z will have two modes of play: Normal, in which a downed player can be revived after a period of time, and Hardcore, where death is permanent. Players will also be able to switch between first and third person perspectives.

The War Z is available today (15 October 2012), so head over to the War Z official site and stand your ground in the zombie apocalypse.

007 Legends

19 October 2012

007 Legends will feature an overarching storyline which links up pivotal missions and events from past James Bond films, meeting up and concluding with the 23rd film scheduled for later this year, Skyfall.

In traditional James Bond fashion, players will be geared up with state-of-the-art gadgets, vehicles and weapons in order to take on the movies’ most notorious bad guys from the series in the most dynamic 007 experience to date.

007 Legends is being developed by Eurocom, which handled development duties for 2011′s GoldenEye 007: Reloaded. The studio also worked on Goldeneye 007 for Wii in 2010 and 2002′s James Bond 007: Nightfire.

WarZ was in development before DayZ. It is the BETA that is being released now, well the Alpha actually. In my opinion, I think it will be a more satisfactory game in terms of playability. It incorporates a well needed RPG aspect which I am looking forward to.

I am eager to start that download as soon as it goes live today. Most probably tonight.
