Now that we know which Kickstarter projects are doomed to fail, what about those projects that are sure to reach dizzying heights of success? Remember, it only matters if you liked it before it was cool, so make sure you know about these before everybody else finds out.
Legend of Dungeon
If the totally adorable neo-retro graphics aren’t enough to win your heart, Legend of Dungeon is a four-player, co-op, side-scrolling beat-’em-up with rogue-like gameplay elements. Add in pizza, and it’s everything you’ve ever wanted. You’ll have to supply your own pizza, though.

Maia
As a gamer, I don’t ask for much, really – maybe just my own private colony on a hostile alien world among the stars to rule with a tyrant’s ultraviolent radiation-resistant, temperature-controlled and pressurised glove. What happens in space, stays in space – and my orbital weapons platforms will shoot down anybody who attempts to demonstrate otherwise.
According to creator Simon Roth, the game is inspired by 70s pulp sci-fi and Bullfrog-era god games, so you know it’s going to be something pretty special.
GODUS
And speaking of Bullfrog-era god games, it’s GODUS – a god game from original Bullfrog man, Peter Molyneux and his new studio, 22cans. I know what you’re thinking – “It’s Peter Molyneux” – but let’s not forget this is the same man who gave us Populous, Black & White, and Dungeon Keeper. Coincidentally enough, these are the same three games cited as major influences for GODUS on the Kickstarter page.
I’ll go ahead and be the first to confess it – I’m interested. Your turn.
Sui Generis
According to its promo blurb, Sui Generis is basically “Grand Theft Auto meets Morrowind in an original open world RPG”, which when you think about it sounds almost exactly like “something I definitely want to play”.
Developer Bare Mettle Entertainment doesn’t confirm if you’ll be able to hijack wagons and murder the local sausage vendors, but the game’s description touts a non-linear narrative that’s “not written, it’s up to you” so I’d guess anything is possible.
Combat Kitchenware
Okay, so technically this isn’t even a game, but these battle-ready frying pans will turn your entire life into a Skyrim expansion, only with much more bacon.
