Game releases this week

10 December 2012

This December week, not only do we head another bit closer to the stuffing of stockings, but also get a revisit from a gaming great and a rugby rival.

Baldur’s Gate: Enhanced Edition (iOS)

Baldur’s Gate: Enhanced Edition finally makes it to the iPad, and it’s a welcome return for one of RPG’s greats.

The revamped version of the PC classic features all the highlights of the original, although with new cross-platform multiplayer functionality.

Quinton was able to tackle the enhanced PC version of the anticipated release, and gave his opinions in his review.

Rugby League Live 2

Big Ant Studios and Tru Blu Entertainment’s Rugby League Live sequel makes its way to SA this week.

The next instalment in the Rugby League series features a reworked tackle system, dynamic passing, and an extensive career mode.

The authenticity of the experience has also been upped, as grass will wear away in areas of play, dirt and mud will accumulate on jerseys and boots, and players will sweat according to their exertion level – yip, a sweat system.

While us in South Africa are more familiar with the code of rugby union, rugby league provides a fast game which highlights the running and passing aspects of the sport.
