BitTorrent and copyright news blog, TorrentFreak recently released its list of the most pirated movies of 2012, with “Project X” ranked first.
TorrentFreak explained that the data for the list is collected from a number of sources, including reports from all major BitTorrent trackers.
Downloads between 1 January 2012 and mid-December 2012 of all torrent release formats of a movie are counted, TorrentFreak said.
This means that everything from DVD rips to camera recordings in a theatre are included in the ranking.
The table below shows the ranking of the most pirated movies on BitTorrent according to TorrentFreak:
