Mweb GameZone is looking to bring a wider range of game servers, new e-Sport offerings, and launch events for the SA gaming community.
“The team have already initiated some high-level discussions with a number of top publishers with a view of securing local servers for South African gamers,” said Mweb’s online gaming manager Desmond Kurz, also explaining that Mweb will be adding new game server titles for rental from Mweb’s partner’s – GameServers.com and Multiplay.co.uk.
Kurz also expressed that there will be an “increased emphasis on competitive gaming and eSports” in 2013, as well as furthering the “Gamers in Beta online training program for beginners wanting to learn the ropes of playing competitively.”
Game launch events have been a staple of Mweb over recent years, and Kurz assures local gamers that more events are ahead.
“With some big titles heading our way in 2013, we are sure to have a busy events schedule. It’s also likely that we will also look for opportunities to host events in more centres around the country.”
Mweb is currently providing the practice servers for the SA team participating in the Battlefield 3 Nations Cup tournament.
