Games you can play this week

29 January 2013

January is in its last stretch, and before the ice-breaker of 2013 comes to an end, there are still some games full of colourful eye-candy and blistering speeds ahead, such as Ni No Kuni: Wrath of The White Witch, Sonic & All Stars Racing Transformed, and Little Big Planet 2: Game of the Year Edition.

PS Vita gamers also thrown a bone, with the release of highly anticipated Let’s Fish! Hooked On…

Ni No Kuni: Wrath of The White Witch – 1 February 2013

Most may not even know about Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch, but Namco Bandai’s RPG is hands-down one of the most beautiful games ever made, and is heading to PS3 gamers this week.

Featuring a gorgeous animated art style, Wrath of the White Witch offers deep RPG elements and exploration, along with a quick-to-learn battle system.

English voice work and a charming soundtrack are just the cherries on top for one of the most exciting looking games of the year.

Sonic & All Stars Racing Transformed – 31 January 2013

Sonic & All Stars Racing was one of the pleasant surprises of 2010 with its over-the-top speed and vibrant tracks; and while it was always compared to Mario Kart, it found a place of its own amongst karting fans.

A sequel to the Sega racer arrives on PC this week, and has brought back the over-the-top and colourful racing, and taking a page out of Mario Kart 7’s book, added sea and air racing.

Lee Joseph was pleased with Sonic’s karting return in his Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed review on PS3, saying that “With the right balance of entertainment and fun, SEGA’s Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed is true to the genre.”
